Lisa SavedbyHisgrace Man's law will always be inferior to God's law. If the symbol of God = the highest standard set (holy, without error, or sin), any law created by anything other than Him would be inferior to his law by nature. So God's law, supercedes man's law at all times.
This also occurs because of his attributes of omniscience (all-knowing), and omnipotence (all-powerful), and omnipresence (ability to be everywhere at the same time).
"Some areas that God's law can be expressed are:
• The physical law.
• The moral law.
• The social law.
• The spiritual law.
Four purposes for God's law found in the bible are:
• To show the oneness and sovereignty of God. (Sovereignty is defined as the supreme rank of God as the one having power and authority to rule the lives of man and creation.)
2 “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 3 “You shall have no other gods before me (Exod. 20:2-3).
• To place a restraint on the sinner.
6 Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that you have done this in the integrity of your heart, and it was I who kept you from sinning against me. Therefore I did not let you touch her (Gen 20:6).
• To show the greatness and reality of sin.
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore, no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin (Rom. 3:19-20).
• To lead the sinner to Christ.
23 Before the coming of this faith,[j] we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. (Gal. 3:24).
